Refund Policy

1. Overview

Due to the bespoke, time-intensive nature of software development and cybersecurity consulting, our refund policy is structured to be fair to both clients and our team. All engagements involve human labour that cannot be “returned” once performed.

2. Deposits

All project deposits (typically 50% of the agreed project fee) are non-refundable once paid. Deposits compensate for:

  • Reservation of team capacity for your project timeline
  • Initial discovery, scoping, and planning work
  • Any preliminary design or architecture work performed before a cancellation request

3. Mid-Project Cancellations

If a client cancels a project after work has commenced beyond the deposit phase:

  • The client will be billed for all work completed to date, calculated at the agreed hourly or milestone rate.
  • All completed deliverables will be handed over upon receipt of the outstanding balance.
  • If the outstanding balance is less than the deposit already paid, no refund for the difference will be issued.

4. Quality Disputes

We stand behind our work. If delivered work contains material defects or does not meet the agreed written specifications:

  • Notify us within 14 calendar days of delivery at info@speemax.com.
  • We will make reasonable revisions at no additional charge to bring the work into compliance.
  • If revisions are not possible within a mutually agreed timeframe, a partial refund proportional to the unmet scope may be offered at our discretion.

Refund claims based on change-of-mind, shifting business priorities, or scope requests beyond the original agreement are not eligible.

5. Cybersecurity & Consulting Services

For security audits, penetration testing, GRC assessments, and consulting engagements:

  • Once a security assessment has been conducted, no refunds are available as the work (research, analysis, reporting) has been fully performed.
  • If we are unable to fulfil a booked assessment due to our own scheduling failure, a full refund will be issued.

6. Retainer Agreements

Monthly retainer fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable for the current billing period. Retainers may be cancelled with 30 days' written notice to take effect at the end of the next billing cycle.

7. How to Request a Refund

To initiate a refund or quality dispute, email info@speemax.com with your project name, invoice number, and a description of the issue. We aim to respond within 3 business days.

8. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated at any time. The version in effect at the time of your project agreement governs that engagement.
